Don't Mess With Texas!

Peek Week at Baby Dance Class!

Daddy joined Ava in her Baby Dance class last week!

Ava - 17 months!

The weather in Boston is finally starting to warm up, so we have been outside to play almost every day. Ava absolutely loves being outside and cries when we have to go inside!

At 17 months she:
Is getting her 12th tooth in!
Loves playing at the park!
Loves looking/reading books and likes to pick out each book we read before bed!
Loves to count or so we think count as she climbs up the stairs
Is a good listener; she will go to the other room and get something whenever asked!
Loves to feed her baby dolls their bottle or her sippy cups
Loves to stack her blocks!
Loves eating most foods; she had her first crab cake today and seemed to enjoy it!
Still doesn't have much hair!
Can point to her body parts (head, nose, belly button, eyes, ears, hands, legs)
Has a few new words: uh-oh, baby, mommy, daddy, apple, hi, bye

Ava's New Ride!

Ava climbing out of the window!

We have upgraded Ava's car to a new Cozy Coupe II! She loves it, but doesn't seem to understand that she can get out by opening the door. She just hops out of the window!

Summer is almost here!!

Since we had one day of 70 degree weather, we decided it was time to try on all of our new summer clothes! Ava really liked her new hat! The next day we got 6 inches of snow!! I can't wait for the heat or even just temps in the 50's!!

Trip to Houston

Haley and Robert

Ava and Grampy in Houston

Janna, Ava and Mimi at Haley's Party

Ava and I made the trip to Houston to visit family and help Haley celebrate her 30th birthday since Sean had class all weekend. The weather was wonderful and it was lots of fun to see everyone!

First Trip to the ER!

Well, I really didn't think we would be making this trip so soon, but we did! Lately, Ava has decided that she doesn't like to sit down in her highchair and can even make her way out if she is strapped in and she did just that on Monday, March 5, 2007. She managed to stand up in the highchair, then hit her head on the sharp edge of the kitchen counter resulting in a cut and lots of blood and crying!!! It was very scary, and once she stopped crying, she seemed to be okay except for the small laceration on the side of her eye. We decided that we needed to make a trip to the Children's Hospital Emergency Room and apparently about 100 other families had the same idea! We arrived at 6:15pm and were finally seen by a doctor at midnight!!! Poor Ava finally fell asleep at 11pm, then she awoke to cold saline solution being put on her wound and being wrapped tightly in sheets on a table. She had surgical glue put on her cut and will probably have a slight scar, but seems to be fine now!
