The night before Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year and it was especially fun since it was Davis' first Christmas and also the first year that Ava understands who Santa really is! Davis loved getting some toys of his own and not Ava's hand-me-downs. Ava was very excited when she came downstairs to see everything Santa had left her, but was a bit overwhelmed! I think we'll do Christmas over a few days or even a week next year. She loved her bicycle and was even more excited when I brought out Sean's bicycle that I surprised him with. Davis' favorite toy is something that we almost returned since we weren't sure he would use it, but his wooden ballacopter that was handmade was his very favorite toy!

Christmas Eve!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with my Mom, Wayne and Haley visiting us this year! Ava and Aunt Haley made homemade cookies for Santa and Ava was very excited to leave cookies and milk for Santa! And although a bit late, we even wrote a letter to Santa and left it for him. Sean and Wayne stayed up late assembling all of the toys for Ava and Davis and my Mom and I spent a lot of time setting out all of the toys from Santa! It was lots of fun!!

Our Sweet Boy!

Just thought I'd post a couple of photos of Davis. He's been very busy lately getting into everything! He loves standing and especially loves playing the piano! He also loves wheels and tires! One of his favorite toys to play with is Ava's stroller wheels - see photo above! He went for his 9 month check-up and weighed in at a very healthy 22.7 pounds and measured 30 inches long!

Snow!!

Last weekend we had lots of snow! Ava couldn't wait to get out and help shovel and go sledding!

I just thought I'd post a funny photo of Ava. She helped herself to a piece of chocolate, then came in the room to let me know that it was really yummy!

Fun with friends, Spencer and Ethan!

Spencer and Ethan came over for a little holiday gift exchange and playdate yesterday. Ava had such a fun time playing with them and keeps asking when they're coming back to play! She even snuck a few hugs and smooches from both of them!

Davis is 9 months!

Ava at 9 months

Davis Patrick is 9 months old today! The time has just gone by too quickly!! He is still the happiest baby at 9 months and we continue to enjoy each moment with him!

At 9 months:

- Davis loves to stand-up and cruise around along the couch and table

- He has 4 teeth, 2 on the bottom that are completely in and 2 coming in on the top

- Is a very fast crawler

- Shakes his head sideways, saying "No"

- Loves playing with Ava and all of her toys

- Loves playing with his music table and his shakers and maraccas

- Really enjoys baths and kicks a lot in the bathtub

- He is enjoying his new playgroup with all boys!

- Still eats everything we give him and loves graham crackers!

- He loves playing with the telephone and remote controls

- He loves knocking down the towers that we build with blocks and cups

Tea and The Nutcracker

Ava and I joined our friends, Sonia and Maggie, for a very fun afternoon which included tea at The Ritz and seeing The Nutcracker. Ava and Maggie even got to meet a couple of the ballerinas from the Nutcracker at the tea! Ava loved the music and watching the ballerinas!

Visit with Santa

We had a very brief visit with Santa last Friday. Ava and Davis were both scared of Santa, but I managed to get Davis to sit on his lap for a minute, but not without lots of tears! Instead of sitting on Santa's lap to tell him what she wanted for Christmas, Ava talked to him from across the room! Maybe we'll have better luck next year!
